Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Welcome to Rwanda

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Kigali.

Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a short city tour including visits to local craft markets, cultural centers, and the Kigali Genocide Memorial for insight into Rwanda’s inspiring history and transformation.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a guided Kigali city excursion before driving north through Rwanda’s beautiful rolling hills toward Volcanoes National Park.

The scenic journey offers breathtaking views of terraced countryside, volcanic mountains, and local villages. Arrive at your lodge near the park and relax while preparing for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Today is one of the highlights of your safari. After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing before entering the rainforest in search of endangered mountain gorillas.

The trek may take a few hours depending on the gorilla family’s location, but the experience of spending one magical hour with these gentle giants is unforgettable.

Return to the lodge for relaxation and optional cultural entertainment in the evening.

Day 4: Cross into Congo – Transfer to Virunga National Park

After breakfast, cross the border into Democratic Republic of the Congo and continue to the famous Virunga National Park, Africa’s oldest national park and home to incredible biodiversity.

Enjoy scenic views of the Virunga Volcanoes and surrounding communities as you head to your lodge.

Optional afternoon nature walks or community visit.

Day 5: Congo Gorilla Trekking Experience

Enjoy another extraordinary gorilla trekking experience, this time in the dense tropical forests of Virunga National Park.

Congo’s gorilla trekking experience is known for its adventurous atmosphere, fewer crowds, and raw wilderness beauty. Spend a memorable hour observing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat while learning about conservation efforts in the region.

Return to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 6: Lake Kivu Relaxation & Cultural Experience
