3 Days Congo Gorilla Trekking Safari | Virunga National Park Adventure

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Goma (DR Congo)

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, you will be welcomed by your safari guide for a briefing and preparation for your journey into the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Enjoy a scenic drive to the Rwanda–Congo border at Gisenyi/Goma. After immigration formalities, cross into Democratic Republic of the Congo and continue to your hotel in Goma near the shores of Lake Kivu.

Depending on arrival time, enjoy a short town tour or relax at the lakeside.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Virunga National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to Virunga National Park headquarters for a briefing by park rangers.

You will then begin your unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure through dense rainforest terrain in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.

The trek can take 2–6 hours depending on gorilla movement and forest conditions. Along the way, enjoy sightings of forest birds, monkeys, and lush volcanic landscapes.

Once the gorillas are located, spend one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat as they feed, play, groom, and interact.

Return to the lodge in the afternoon for relaxation.

Day 3: Return to Kigali – Departure

After breakfast, cross back into Rwanda and drive back to Kigali.
