Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Goma (DR Congo)

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, you will be welcomed by your safari guide and begin your journey toward the Rwanda–Congo border.

Drive through scenic landscapes to Gisenyi and cross into Democratic Republic of the Congo via Goma border.

Proceed to your hotel located near the shores of Lake Kivu.

Depending on arrival time, enjoy a short lakeside relaxation or city orientation in Goma.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Virunga National Park – Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, transfer to Virunga National Park headquarters for briefing by experienced park rangers.

Begin your gorilla trekking adventure through dense rainforest terrain in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.

The trek may take 2–6 hours depending on gorilla movement. Along the way, you may encounter monkeys, birds, and lush volcanic scenery.

Once the gorillas are located, spend one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat as they feed, play, and interact.

After the trek, return to Goma and cross back into Rwanda.

Continue to Kigali for airport drop-off or overnight stay depending on your schedule.
